Haley's First Zoo Fun

So it's Memorial weekend & we didn't make any trips outta town this year. So we decided it'd be a good weekend to take Haley to the Zoo for the first time.  Houston is definitely getting hotter as the Summer is peaking, so I thought I'd plan for us to go to the Zoo really early in the morning!! What was I really thinking & hoping that it would really go as planned? haha!!!  First you got Duy wanting to sleep in b/c it is the weekend, and I can't lie I was partly wanting to too, and of course it's always hard to be on time with a baby!! LOL!!!

     So that morning we slowly started off with getting Haley ready & gathering all her things. After all the bustling in the morning..  we finally made our way out of the house by 10:45ish.  First we headed to our friend Alisa's house so we could borrow her zoo pass. Thanks Auntie Alisa for letting us use it!!  Of course mama Alisa was the expert & told us we could bring food in the zoo to picnic!! What a fantastic idea & def save us money!!! So off we went to get a portable cooler & made a stop by Central Market for food!!! On the way, our friend Tom called & we invited him along for some zoo fun!!

     Haley loved checking out some of the zoo animals sitting in her stroller ( her favorite thing to do now is sit upright in the stroller to look around).  Haley was such a trooper, it was prob one of the hottest day so far that we experienced.  Poor girl was sweating like crazy, but yet she didn't cry or complain too much!!!

This is how Haley likes to stay cool in the heat!! LOL!!!  This was priceless seeing her lounge like this!!!

We made it all around the entire zoo & our last stop was the elephants & giraffe!!!  By that time, Haley was already soo exhausted that she fell asleep at the last animal exhibit!!!

After the last stop we decided to stop by the picnic tables & eat our lunch that we bought from Central market!!  Loved every moment spending time at the Houston Zoo.  It's been soo long since I've been back. The Zoo is definitely so much better after being renovated & so much cleaner!!!

At the end we all visited the gift shop & I gave Haley 3 stuff animals to choose.  Waited for a couple of minutes for her to decide which stuff animal she wanted & this is what she reached out her arms for!! ;-)

So glad this weekend's Zoo trip was a success. Although I would hope the next time we visit the Zoo it will not be as HOT!! ;-P

Haley's first bout of constipation

Now usually I don't like to talk about poo poo talk, but poor Haley has been having a bad case of constipation after we got home from our Austin trip.  For the last 2 days, she has been trying to poop & you could so see she was trying so hard that she was in pain!!  At first it wasn't bad & once in awhile she could let out a little.  I was hoping it wasn't going to be too bad.
  After awhile.. i did my own research & it said we could start her on prune juice to help relieve the constipation. Along with that doing leg excercises & stomach  massages should help.  So with that..  I called the dr's office to confirm it was okay to start giving her prune juice. So that was what Duy & I did.
 But as the hrs went by...  you could so see the strain in her face every single time she tried to go & once in awhile she would cry with a lil pain in her eyes.  Then the last time she tried to go..  she was in soo much pain that she was sweating like crazy & crying with a whimpering.
   I never heard her cry like that.... so of course I picked her up & all she did was nuzzzle underneath my shoulders. My heart was aching & it was soo hard to see her in pain. Our poor baby. So with that.. I called my mom & she said maybe we need to ask the dr if we can give her a suppository.  So off I called the Dr & the nurse confirmed it was okay to use it.
  So my mom rushed over with the suppository to help me out!!  So we gave her one & 30 mins later she was able to poop out!!! A huge relief came over me & my mom and of course Haley was all smiles again.

The next day she was regular again & we all were soo happy. I hope that we won't get too many of these in the future..  bc it was soo sad to see her in so much pain.

On a happier note..  now Haley is just all smiles & playing around in her walker :-)

Haley's First Swim & Daddy's Muddy Buddy

This weekend we all went up to Austin to see Duy participate in a Muddy Buddy course consisting of running/biking & crawling in mud obstacle!! It was Haley's first trip to Austin & she did quite well and absolutely loved it.  Congrats to daddy Duy & uncle Johnny for finished first among their friends.

 Here's Haley saying "congrats daddy for doing an awesome job!!!".  She looked a little happier here now that she saw daddy.  In the beginning she didn't like all the yelling & screaming of people cheering & all the crowded people.  She finally settled down when she saw daddy...  such a daddy's girl.

On our trip to Austin, the kids all went to go for a quick swim in the hotel swimming pool. It was Haley's First Swim!!!  The water was a little cold.. but she seem to do ok & totally loved it!!!!  She's definitely a water baby!!! ;-)  Here's Haley getting ready for her first swim.  I didn't get to take any pics with my camera when she was in the water here.

After coming home on Sunday... our neighborhood pool was opened for the first weekend of summer. So we decided to take her swimming again so she can use her float!! Here's Haley in another swimming outfit!! :-0
