So today was the World Cup Final between Netherlands & Spain. We all went over to Ly & Phillips to eat crawfish & watch the game.  Of course Spain won.. in overtime too!! :-)  Had plenty of crawfish & tried out Phil's crabcake.  It was yummy!!

Haley is soo beginning to baby talk to the other kids!! Definitely interacting with them.  I so wonder what goes on in baby's head & how they try to communicate with each other.  I think Alina & Haley does understand each other.. hehe :-)  It's soo cute watching them interact.

Haley's first time in High Chair

So we finally bought Haley a highchair so we could feed her.  We've been putting her on her bouncer on top of the breakfast table & she's has been one wiggly baby!!!  If it weren't for the buckles on the bouncer.. i think miss Haley would've crawled down onto the table.. ehhe ;-)

Anyways.. i've been waiting for this highchair to go on sale & it finally did!! Yay!

Alina's First Birthday

Today was Alina's first bday!!   Ly & Phillip had a huge birthday party for Alina at their house!!! I can't believe that it's been 1 yr already since her birth!! Time sure does fly!!!!  Makes me think how time really does fly by with Haley too.. and before you know it...... Haley will be turning 1 tooo!!!! :-P

At the party, Ly had a lady who was doing Face Painting & blowing up balloons.  Hmmm I thought it'd be cute for Haley to get a face painting of a ladybug on her cheek.  WHAT was I thinking???  As soon as we sat down.. Haley started to squirm & started crying.  The lady barely could paint Haley's face.. and of course it was more of a mess than being fun.. hehee!!  Well at least I tried.  We'll have to wait till Haley gets older to get her face painted again.  At least Haley was able to get a balloon shaped in a Dog for her to play with.

 Ly's theme for Alina's birthday was Butterflys.. since that's how her room is decored.  As party favors.....Ly gave all the little girls at the party Butterfly wings & wands!!! It was tooo cute!!!!

It was also fun watchin Haley play with all Alina's toys.. she's beginning to look at stuff & wanting to grab & climb over things a lil. Still not crawling though.

Weekend with Cau Vinh's Family & Bac Chan

This weekend Cau Vinh's family came down with the kids to visit Ba Noi!!!  It was soo great spending time with them over the weekend.  They spent the weekend down here & then went to Florida for the week to take the girls to the opening of Harry Potter Universal Theme park!! How cool is that?  After coming home from that trip, the family spend the rest of the weekend together with us before they headed back to Cali.

Co Tu Quynh & Co Tu Trinh took Haley swimming a twice while they were down here!! Haley loved spending time with her aunties!! Wow.. Tu Quynh & Tu Trinh sure has an older title of "aunties now".. heheh!!    Alex also came down the 2nd weekend when Cau Vinh came back from Florida.

That same weekend Bac Chan also came down from Cali to spend almost 2 wks with us!!!  Was great seeing Bac Chan!!

Haley's First Swim Lesson

Haley is definitely a natural water baby!! She absolutely loves the water!!  Watching her in the pool is such a delight!!! Every time we take her to the pool she's all smiles & not a cry comes out of her while being in the water.  I really hope it stays this way and she'll never be afraid of the water.

So with that, I decided to enroll her in swim classes at the Houston Swim Club.  I think Haley did farely well her first time taking swim class.  She was all smiles of course & the only time she cried was when the instructor took hold of them individually to practice a few swim movements.  Haley sure is gaining that stranger anxiety more and more each day.  If she didnt see one of us..  she'll let out a loud cry. Poor baby!!

Oh and during swim class they taught us how to let Haley go under water for a few seconds.  Surprisely she learned fast & didn't cry when she was dipped under.  She learned how to hold her breath!! yay..  So proud of my lil Haley!!

Haley's Ear Piercing

So I've been contemplating on whether or not to get Haley's ears pierced.  Always wanted to get it done for her early b/c I don't want her to really remember the pain or chicken out when she's older.!! hehe  Probably the reason of thinking that way was b/c I totally chickened out when I wanted to get it done when I was in the elementary age or even older!!
After a couple of weeks of thinking, my sister-inlaw Ly said she was thinking of piercing her daughter Alina's ears also!! So with that..  we both decided to take the girls together for their piercing.

So we took the girls to Claire's in Memorial Mall.   Getting there, I was starting to get a lil bit nervous!!! I'm thinking & hoping it wouldn't be too bad.  I was sooo prepared to videotape & take pics to record this milestone for Haley & Alina..  but the lady at Claire's said I couldn't take pic or video tape during the process.. after would be ok though.

So first up was Alina.  She was such a trooper.  She only cried a little bit.   Her mom Ly said she actually did good, compared to her vaccination shots (she hates those).

Next up was miss Haley!!!  Now I was quite nervous when it was her turn. I had to hold her hands down with one hand and the other was to hold her head still!!!  The things we mothers do so our lil girl can be cute!! heheeh.   Haley definitely DID NOT like getting her ears pierced, she cried so much. But after 2 mins she was back to her own self!!

As a reward both Ly & I gave the girls Dip n Dot's icecream at the mall!! Boy did Haley loved it!!!!  She started fussing when there was no more icecream left!! Uh oh.... thats not good for her to love sweets too much!! LOL!!!
